The Charleston International Film Festival (CIFF) is an international film competition, dedicated to showcasing the art and talent of emerging filmmakers from the U.S. and around the globe in a city known for its deep-rooted American history.
The festival typically includes premieres, special events, seminars, after parties and deal making opportunities. The festival also showcases shorts, features, documentaries and animations of all genre and subject matter.
On the 5th and final night of the festival, the staff at CIFF present awards to honor the finest in filmmaking and screenwriting displayed during the competition at the Awards Gala. These awards include a $1,000 cash prize for Best Film and a $500 cash prize for Best Screenplay.
CIFF is a non-profit organization and is run by a huge amount of volunteers. But it has been so important to the local community that it is still going strong.
