The Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival, more commonly known as Rushes Soho Shorts Festival, is a yearly display of short films hosted by Rushes Postproduction. It has taken place every summer since 1999. What began as a small series of screenings at the Curzon Cinema in London’s Soho area, has grown considerably since its inception. The non-profit event, which usually takes place in July, is recognized as one of UK’s best Short Film Festivals, with an equal focus on emerging and established talent. It’s a great place to watch classics and also see some great new films.
A large number of recognizable names have both acted in films at the festival, and presented the festival. This includes actors like David Tennant and Michael Sheen.
The festival typically includes panels with actors and filmmakers, as well as plenty of showings.
It’s a not for profit festival, so they need all the love and support they can get.
The categories at the festival include:
The International Award
The Long Form Award
The Documentary Award
The Short Film Award
The Animation Award
The Music Video Award
The Pushing Boundaries Award
The Newcomers Award
We love the Rushes Soho Short Film Festival!
