If you’re based in the USA and you’re looking to watch Akira for free in Ultra HD right now, you can do that 100% legally at the moment (September 2026), here’s how to do it in just a few simple steps:
At the moment, you can watch Akira for free via CrunchyRoll, a service you can use for free via Prime Video with a 7 day free trial (even if you don’t have Prime Video). It’s super easy to start and cancel this free trial, and as long as you remember to cancel the CrunchyRoll free trial after you’ve watched the movie, you won’t be charged anything at all. There’s no catch – this is just a great way to stream this movie for free in crystal-clear quality without any annoying pop-up ads or sketchy websites!
All you have to do is:
- head to the Akira page on Prime Video
- start the 7 day Crunchyroll free trial
- watch the movie within the 7 day period
- cancel the free trial before the 7 days are over (it’s easy to do this within your Account settings)
- and that’s it – you just watched Akira for free!
As long as you cancel the CrunchyRoll free trial before the 7 days are over, you won’t pay anything, as explained on the Akira Prime Video page.
Don’t have Prime Video? No problem!
If you already have Prime Video then it’s really easy to use this free trial, but even if you don’t already have Prime Video, it’s no problem – you can still use the free trial as long as you have an Amazon account:
Just remember to cancel the free trial before the 7 days are over and you won’t pay anything! This offer is currently (August 2026) available but probably won’t last for long, learn more on the Akira Prime Video page here.
