1

Free VPN (Cancel before the trial ends and pay $0)

Easily the best way to watch anything you want online for free, regardless of where you are based, is with a free VPN trial. You can get a free VPN for 30 days and go crazy with stuff like:

  • Go to any region of Netflix, get a free trial then watch anything you want from any region of Netflix
  • Use any region of Amazon Prime Video (the UK version has a whole load of free stuff that the US version doesn't)
  • Use platforms like BBC iPlayer, 4OD or NowTV from anywhere in the world and watch content for free

What movies can you stream for free with a VPN?

Loads of stuff! You could access a different region of Netflix and watch tv shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender if you're into that, or Brooklyn Nine Nine if you're in the mood for a laugh. I also like to use my VPN to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy every now and again (who am I kidding, I rewatch those films every month). If you want to brush up on your Spanish then you could connect to a Spanish language version of Netflix then start streaming Novelas (watch the shows with subtitles if you want to practice reading too). You could even connect to the Japanese region of Netflix and watch a horror film like Annabelle Creation.

2

Amazon Prime Video (free trial - cancel before it ends and pay $0)

There are literally thousands of amazing tv shows and movies available through Amazon Prime Video, and you can watch 90% of them completely free with an Amazon Prime Video 30 day free trial. The thing I like best about the Amazon Prime Video free trial is that it's actually very easy to cancel too. So even if you use the trial for 29 days then cancel, you won't pay anything. You can also start and cancel free trials of other services like HBO & Showtime through Amazon Prime Video, so there are even more options for free, legal streaming. Get started with an Amazon Prime Video trial right now!

What movies can you stream with an Amazon Prime Video trial?

Once again, there is a huge selection of films and tv shows that can be streamed for free with a free trial of Amazon Prime Video. Because Amazon have an agreement with HBO, you can watch shows like Game of Thrones and Chernobyl with a free trial through Amazon Prime Video. Also this means you can watch any films owned by HBO through the same methods, like Deadpool 2. Other networks have deals with Amazon too so a lot of their content can be streamed with a free trial too, like STARZ who have Venom and Spider-Man Homecoming. Lastly there are films and tv shows that Amazon have rights to, so you can watch them for free for 30 days! Awesome shows and films like Hereditary and Parks and Recreation can be watched with this trial. Overall there is just a great streaming selection over on Amazon, and it's very easy to start and cancel the trials so you never pay anything!

3

Netflix (30 day trial)

Netflix is probably still the main streaming platform, and although I personally don't think their choice is as good as what Amazon have to offer, they still have a pretty awesome free trial up for grabs. One of the best things about Netflix however is that every region of Netflix has a different selection of tv shows and movies to choose from. So if you use a VPN to change your region (which can be done easily with a free VPN) then you suddenly open up loads more options for streaming.

What movies can you stream with a Netflix trial?

Netflix is the king of streaming platforms at the moment, and there is a load of great movies and tv shows that you can stream for free on there with a trial. For example, shows like Stranger Things and Black Mirror are two of the most popular tv shows anywhere right now, so to have both of them available with a free trial is awesome. You can also watch interesting films like The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs or Velvet Buzzsaw. Even horror movies like Alien: Covenant are available on Netflix with a free trial. Get started with a Netflix free trial and enjoy some awesome movies and tv shows!

4

NowTV (7 day trial)

NowTV might be a UK streaming service, but if you're using a VPN and setting your region to UK then you can still use it from any location. The main reason I like NowTV is that it has some pretty awesome tv shows and movies to watch on there, all for free during the free trial (theirs is a 7 day trial).

What movies can you stream with a NowTV trial?

Even though NowTV is a UK focused streaming service, you can use a VPN to access it from anywhere and stream some really excellent movies and tv shows. For starters it has Avengers: Infinity War, a movie that is not long out of cinemas. It also has Game of Thrones like Amazon does, as well as other popular tv shows like Chernobyl and The Handmaid's Tale. Get started with a 7 day free trial and enjoy this awesome streaming service!

5

Hulu (7 day trial)

Hulu offer either a 7 day free trial or a 30 day free trial (depending on where you look), and I actually think this platform is pretty underrated. It is very nearly rivalling Amazon Prime Video and Netflix in terms of selection, and has some great niche options for streaming that you can watch during a free trial period.

What movies can you stream with a Hulu trial?

Hulu has just been bought by Disney so expect their range of streaming options to expand hugely in the next few years, but even at the moment they have a great selection. You can watch The Sisters Brothers, which is a great movie from 2018, as well as Free Solo which is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. You can also watch tv shows like Naruto Shippuden with a trial, so check Hulu out!

6

BBC iPlayer + VPN trial

BBC iPlayer might be another UK based service (like NowTV), but through the use of a VPN you can access this streaming service from anywhere in the world. Setting up the VPN is really simple (and can be done for free with ExpressVPN through the use of a free trial), then all you need to do is connect to a UK based server, which will change your IP address and allow you to access all the content on BBC iPlayer!

What movies & tv shows can you stream with BBC iPlayer?

There are some seriously awesome BBC tv shows and movies that you can watch on BBC iPlayer - for example, Doctor Who is on there, as well as Bodyguard and Killing Eve. At the moment you can watch movies like It Follows on there, and a bunch of documentaries too. Check it out!

What movies can you stream with YouTube?

One of the great things about streaming movies through YouTube is that they have a great selection of older and even newer movies available to watch online. For example, Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom is a very weird and interesting horror movie from the 70s that can be watched through YouTube. Check it out!

I have to admit - the first time I stumbled upon Popcornflix, I didn't actually think it was a legal streaming site. But it is! There is no account needed to start watching the films on here, you can just get started and watch immediately.

What movies can you stream with Popcornflix?

Loads of movies are available through Popcornflix - but be warned, lots of them are very bad. Luckily there are a few good movies on there, including What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

10

Tubi

Tubi is similar to Popcornflix in the sense that it doesn't feel like it should be free to stream movies from this platform, but it totally is. Most of the movies on here have subtitles that can be used too, so that's extra handy.

What movies can you stream with Tubi?

There are some really random movies available on Tubi - so if movies like Charlotte's Web and Titanic 2 (yes, there's a second Titanic film) get you excited, check it out!

11

SnagFilms

Some of the awesome movies you can watch on SnagFilms include Mask of Deception, Animal Farm and Boy Wonder.

12

Yidio

Yidio definitely doesn't feel like a legal streaming platform, but it most definitely is! There are some real stinkers on here, but if you dig deep enough you'll find some great titles!

What movies can you stream with Yidio?

You can find some great films on Yidio, including Frozen and The Passion of The Christ, as well as some really bad films like Fred: The Movie!

13

Pluto TV

Pluto TV doesn't just have an awesome selection of older movies and tv shows, it also has the option for some live tv streaming, so that's pretty cool. It also has a very intuitive search function and feels like you're using television.

What movies can you stream with Pluto TV?

There are loads of classic movies on Pluto TV - movies like Patriot Games, Dinner for Shmucks and even films for kids like Hugo.

14

Vudu

Many people think of Vudu as a paid streaming platform, and it has paid options, but there are also huge amounts of free movies that can be streamed through Vudu, with lots of newer titles available too.

What movies can you stream with Vudu?

Some of the movies you can watch online through Vudu include The Ant Bully, Sherlock Gnomes and The Cable Guy. If TV series is more your thing, then you can watch all 4 seasons of Better Call Saul on the platform too.

That's a pretty good selection, right? If you use the free trials included in this post cleverly, there is almost 6 months worth of tv shows and movies here, all in awesome quality and all legally. Nice!
