Prime Video is quickly becoming my favourite place to head to for streaming movies – it feels like every month there are more excellent movies being added onto the platform.
I spotted some real gems on there recently, so I thought it would be useful to round up 5 of the best movies you can stream via Prime Video UK right now (August 2026), let’s get into it:
The Matrix
Do we need to say anything more about The Matrix? Incredible fight scenes, endless quotable scenes and a killer soundtrack, it really is an incredible movie. You can currently stream the full 2 hour 10 minute version on Prime Video UK.
Fantastic Planet
This weird movie has built up quite a cult following since it was released in the early 70s, and once you’ve watched it you’ll understand why. I can’t explain what’s special about it, you’ll just have to watch it for yourself. #
mother!
This is an absolute tour de force from Jennifer Lawrence – if you want to watch a manic movie with some pretty gnarly gore, this is definitely up your street.
The Witch
Eggers’ first and, in my opinion, best movie – The Witch is a horror gem. Creepy and slow, watch this one with the lights out.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
If you enjoyed ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, you’ll definitely enjoy Furiosa – it reaches many of the same heights as Fury Road, and that’s saying a lot as Fury Road is a perfect movie.
As you can see, there are some excellent movies on Prime Video UK at the moment. Happy streaming!
