Our review
'Captain Marvel' is by no means a bad movie, but it did feel a little jarring within the Marvel Universe that Disney had so meticulously constructed across more than a decade. Right before the finale of the first phase of the Marvel Universe, we were suddenly introduced to a hero who was more powerful than almost every other Avenger. A female-led movie was definitely welcome, but equally, we would have probably preferred to have seen a standalone Black Widow movie. Nevertheless 'Captain Marvel' is still worth a watch, and adds some important context before 'Avengers: Endgame'.
