Synopsis

After the events of The Last Jedi, we rejoin Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), and the small number of Resistance who survived the First Order’s siege of their base on Crait.

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) discovers the location of a powerful Sith Lord who has been revived after he threatens revenge. The evil Sith Lord has a powerful army and a fleet of Star Destroyers and his plans include the destruction of the Resistance and the killing of Rey.

Rey and her small band of Resistance fighters hear from a First Order spy about the presence of this Sith Lord and begin their search for him, aided by an old friend in the form of Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams).

Rey and Kylo continue to feel the bond that they established during The Last Jedi. On Rey’s journey to find the Sith Lord, she uncovers some startling revelations about her past that make her question her allegiances. Kylo also does some soul-searching, and the two find themselves tested when they come face to face with all the power of the Dark Side.

The final instalment in the nine-movie “Skywalker saga”, the Rise of Skywalker concludes the new characters’ stories in the Star Wars universe, as well as waving farewell one last time to a host of cast members from the original trilogy.
